Community Guidelines — Read Before Posting

Community Guidelines

Simple rules. Follow them and we will all get along fine.

1. Be useful

Before you post, ask yourself: does this help someone? Share your experience, ask real questions, give real answers. This is a professional community.

2. Be respectful

Disagree on the work, not the person. Veterans — remember you were new once. Apprentices — respect the experience in the room.

3. No spam or self-promotion

Do not post ads, affiliate links, or promotional content without prior approval. The Job Board and Classifieds exist for a reason — use them.

4. Stay on topic

Put things in the right category. A residential wiring question goes in Residential Wiring. A tool question goes in Tools & Equipment. It keeps things findable.

5. No licensing or safety shortcuts

Do not give advice that could get someone hurt or in trouble with an inspector. If you are not sure, say so.

6. Credit your sources

If you are quoting code, cite the section. If you learned something from someone, give credit.

Violations will result in a warning, then a ban. We want this to be the best community in the trade — that only works if everyone holds the standard.
